The Office

So I'm home all this week! Shawn and I have some big plans for the house this week. Today we painted the office and Shawn built himself a desk. The office was an awful light purple color that had to go. Here are some pictures Shawn took with his phone.

We bought a house!

Shawn and I are now living in Trabuco Canyon. It is so peaceful out here, when i get home from work it's like I'm on vacation! Our home is a 2 bedroom one bath that we plan to add onto in the next 5years. Its so nice to finally have a home of our own. When we are done getting it all Barryish I will post pictures. I have been super busy. Nothing besides the house has really happened in our lives. Hope everyone is well!

venting!

So I decided this morning while I was in the shower to write about things that bug me today!
Its Monday so of course it started off a tired me.

1. When I'm in the shower or if anyone is DO NOT flush the toilet. Seems like common sense right? Nope not here.
2. Most people don't know but since about second grade I have had migraine headaches. Well if any of you have ever had one they do not get any better the next time you get one! So just because they are there almost everyday does not mean I am used to them. I hate it when people say yeah but you always have a headache.... does not mean it hurts me less then if you had it!
3. I can't stand that parents are not teaching there children common simple manners. I have kids at school that sneeze all over the place and fart and anything that you can think of that is gross and makes normal people want to vomit, they do.Because I have had my Thyroid removed which controls part of the immune system I tend to catch everything that is going around the Elementry school. So it is important that theses kids learn manners and start washing their hands and things like that which you would think their parents would have taught them years ago!!!
4. One last thing that really bugs me right now is people complaining that no one is helping them out yet they never ask for the help. I'm not a mind reader and neither is Shawn we can't do anything if you don't ask for the help!

O.k. guys that's all for the venting for today and I really hope that next time my post can be happy and upbeat! Hope everyone in the Blogger world is doing well.

Service Men and Woman

So I was just watching the newest episode of the Real World. There is a boy on the show named Ryan. He is a decorated solider. He served his time in the Army. He got called back to go fight again in the war. He did his active duty and was on his four years inactive. I cried during this show!

Most of you know that my brother Richard is a United States Marine. I can remember the day he left for boot camp. I had just graduated high school and had just gotten back from a trip with the Langton's to the river. My mom called and we were still unpacking the car. She told me that my brother was leaving that day and that I'd better get home so I could see him. I sat down and all I could do is cry. It was after 9/11/01 and I knew that he would be fighting in that war sooner then later. I did not want to see him go.

His first tour was so hard for me. I was able to talk to him a few times and write emails all the time. He went through a ton on that tour but it was good to know that he was with his good friend Steve and that they could watch over each other. Steve is like another brother to me. He got through his first tour and mom and I were there to greet him and Steve when they got home. It was such a great feeling to be able to see him and give him a hug. Richard never did tell me about what happened over there. I think he wanted to not scare me in case he had to go back

He was home for about 7 months and he got called to serve again this time I think it was even harder. He now had a girlfriend! I was not the one he called when he could call someone, I was not the one that he wrote to daily. I had no idea if he was ok or not most of the time. It was so scary. I had to her through her how he was it was crazy.

When he was getting home I made shirts and we made a sign. I was so nervous. I made sure that I was the first one to see him and give him a hug. His girl friend was not too happy with this but I'm the sister and I get what I want.

Now he is about to get out of active duty at the end of April. He had a chance to go on another tour and he turned it down so he can start new and be a civilian again. You know what I was actually going to try to get him to go! now I'm thinking I was crazy but he will be out soon and be safe. But even then there is inactive duty that they can call him back when ever they want. They own him. Just like Ryan.

My brother Richard Stephen Walters is a Iraq War Vet. He is a hero a true hero. I look up to all those that serve to keep me safe and when ever I see a service man or woman I make sure to thank them for there work in keeping me safe. I hope that you all will also do so.

Twilight

So thanks to Christie Fisher I got hooked. I was really against reading the books because the one thing that really freaks me out is vampires. Well these books were really good and romantic. I read all four in just about a week! Im kinda sad that there are only four of them. If anyone knows of any really good books let me know. I love reading.

NANA

This past week has been a tough one to say the least. My dear sweet Nana passed away at 5:20 am on Tuesday January 13, 2009.
My Nana was such a strong woman who was a good example. She was a strong member of the church and a loving caring woman.
Here are a few memories I would like to share with everyone.

Nana was always kind. She would help everyone and anyone. Whenever my mom needed help Nana was the first to help her. When I had questions about the church she was a phone call away. My uncle shared his last time spent with her and it shows just how giving she really was. He went to go visit her on sat. in the hospital and could hear her yelling and when he got to her she said get me out of here. He got the nurse and they made her comfy and after a while he took her on a ride toward the end of a ride in her wheelchair they stopped in the movie room of the hospital. Ryan saw a woman the was crying and went over to her, she wanted to be takin back to her room so he did so. When he got back Nana asked him who she was and what was wrong. Ryan told Nana her name was virgina and that he did not know why she was sad. So Nana insisted he take her to Virginia's room and there Nana befriended this woman. Nana even in her last day was christ like and was doing for others. She always thought of others before her self.

My last memory with my Nana was at my sealing to Shawn. What a great last memory to have. She is the only woman in my family that was worthy to enter the temple and be with me on the most special day. She sat to my right and held my hand before I went to the alter and knelt with Shawn. She has been a great example to me and how I am supposed to live my life as a woman of christ, a daughter of God. She never once questioned the Church or ever questioned her faith. She is where i must get it from. I hope that I can live to be like my Nana.

Another thing that I look up to Nana on is her faithful love to my grandfather. He past about 30 years ago and she was always in love with him. She never remarried and always loved him. Im so glad I have found Shawn and that I to can have that. Thanks goodness for people like her!
